It was great for us all to meet for the first time in over 16 months and in some cases for the first time!

With our team working from home, this was an opportunity for colleagues to reunite in person and catch up face-to-face instead of on Zoom or Teams. As our team has grown over the last year, there are some of us who haven’t yet had the opportunity to meet in person so it was great to see what
everyone looks like off-screen!

There was a sense of excitement the night before the away day – similar to the night before a school trip. Outfits organised, bags packed and lateral flow tests done… We travelled down to North Berwick by bus to Margery’s cottage in the countryside for a day of food, drinks and the first-ever Gravitate Games – a relay race consisting of a sack race, three-legged race, an egg and spoon race and a putting challenge that brought out the competitive side in some. We also had the opportunity to get much-needed photographs taken for the website and a group photo featuring a special guest.

Thanks to technology, more emphasis on the importance of communication, and the culture embedded in Gravitate HR, the last year has made our team even stronger and meeting up in person allowed us to build on that. While we are settling into the new norm that is working from home, there is nothing that can beat the energy when we all meet in person and we can’t wait for the next one!
