Sarah recently joined the Gravitate HR team in August 2026. In this post, she shares her HR journey, what brought her to Gravitate, and what she’s passionate about both inside and outside of work.

I am absolutely delighted to be joining the wonderful team at Gravitate HR. Having previously worked alongside Nicole Leske, I was already familiar with the values, expertise, and client-focused approach that Gravitate HR provide.

A Personal Approach to HR That Puts Relationships First

What particularly attracted me to my role was the opportunity to work closely with business’s in a way that is genuinely personal. Building strong relationships is at the heart of good HR, and I love the opportunity to be able to spend time with our clients face-to-face, getting to know their business, understanding their culture, and really listening to their challenges and goals. Every organisation is different, and I believe the best HR solutions come from taking the time to understand every business’s unique needs and requirements rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

The chance to work alongside an experienced and supportive team while helping businesses create positive and productive workplaces is the reason that I’m here.

What Brought You to HR?

I must admit, I have taken a slightly zig-zagged route into HR, but now I can’t imagine being anywhere else.

Before moving into HR, I spent a number of years in leadership and management roles where I found myself increasingly drawn to the people side of business. This interest eventually led me back to university in 2019 to study for a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, following which I completed a Diploma in Employment Law.

I have always believed that good work plays a huge role in our wellbeing, sense of purpose, and overall happiness. Having been in employment since my mid-teens, I’ve experienced lots of different workplaces, leadership styles, and working environments, sometimes good and occasionally not, because of this, I feel that I’m really able to put myself in my client’s shoes.

Keeping Up to Date with HR and Employment Law

I’m a bit of an HR and employment law geek, so when I’m not advising, you will probably find me keeping up to date with topical HR issues and the latest case law.

What Are You Passionate About Outside of Work?

My interest in people doesn’t end when I close my computer at the end of the day. Outside of work, I’m always with family and friends and really enjoy meeting new people, new experiences and try to stay curious. I love culture in all its forms, film, books, fashion, music and journalism to art, history and travel. I’m also an avid home cook and huge foodie. One day, once my HR working days end and retirement comes along, I have a dream of living in Italy and growing my own fruits and vegetables in the sun.
